Review: Waking Up Married

Some of you might be wondering if I even write reviews anymore, which would be a valid question considering my last couple of posts. The truth is... I've been really lazy about pressing the publish button. Doesn't this sound like the most ridiculous issue ever? I have so many reviews in draft mode and I figured I should go ahead and schedule them since they are there and all.

My Review:
Megan wakes up married to Connor Reed and can't remember how this could have happened.  Convinced that this was an impetuous and drunken decision, she is determined to end the marriage as soon as possible. Fortunately, Connor remembers why they decided to marry and know that it was based on rational reasons that he still believes in.  Now he must convince Megan to give their marriage a try.  Interestingly enough there is two parts to this story.  Connor wants Megan to stay married to him, but for the original reasons.  He wants the marriage he bargained for.  But can he have both Megan and the marriage he bargained for?

Waking Up Married is a cute story and a quick read.  There is a little more to this story than two people getting married in Vegas after a crazy night.  I just wish I had gotten to see part of the Vegas craziness rather than hearing about it afterward in bits and pieces.  Some of the most exciting and fun sounding events happened off the page and were merely described through dialogue between characters.  This allowed the focus to remain on the characters and the romance but it also kept me in the characters' heads a bit much. When Megan and Connor are in the scene together it was just perfect.  There is a period of time where we are in Megan's head only and that's a bit annoying because Megan thinks the same thing over and over again.  Connors is a great leading man and I fell in love with him right away.  He wasn't perfect but it's all part of the story.  I thought the romance was quite sweet and ultimately left me satisfied with this book.  I did pick this one for the romance.

If you are looking for a sweet romance, look no further.  If you want  a little more then this one might leave you less than satisfied.

  2. At least you had your reviews written. I've got about five that I need to write. Lol. I've been so lazy about getting them done that I hope I can remember the books already. This one sounds like something light and funny and that isn't so bad sometimes.

    1. I have them written but they need one or two things. Like a rating or a picture or something. Or they need to be proofread.

  3. Sounds fun and sweet. I can't imagine what legitimate reasons they had for marrying in the first place. But I guess discovering that is part of the charm.

  4. I feel your pain - I have so many unfinished draft posts and I know I should just sit down and finish them. I just can't make myself do it, though...kudos to you for biting the bullet and publishing them!

So, I had much of the same reaction you did to this story - I wanted to see Vegas rather than hear bits and pieces of it after the fact. Ultimately, I gave up and didn't finish it. I think I was looking for the "more" that you were talking about, and I might have enjoyed this book rather than abandoning it.

    1. I think I enjoyed the end better than the beginning. In the beginning I felt left out because I was on the out side looking in on the Vegas adventure.

  5. I liked this one only so so, it wasn't bad but it wasn't as good as it could have been with this premise.
I liked Connor a lot, actually but I didnt like the girl, I can't even be bothered to remember her name. :P
