This year, I'm not sure where I'll be for this challenge so I don't know the extent of my participation. If I'm with mom, I'm going for the whole 24 hours once again. If I'm with the hubby... well, I'll read as much as I can. Are you participating? There are almost 200 people signed up so far! Go check it out! If you are participating, let me know in the comments. I usually create a list in my reader so I can stop in and cheer and keep track of all the fun.

Dewey's 24 Hour #Readathon October 13
It's that time again!! I've once again signed up for Dewey's 24 Hour Read-a-thon. Twice a year in October and April one of the best events rolls around where readers challenge themselves to read for an entire 24 hours (or as long as life allows). I love this particular challenge because there are so many people participating and cheering each other on. I always meet new bloggers every time I participate and make new friends. Last year I even made it the entire 24 hours, my mom made 21 hours, and my grandmother made it 18 hours. We had a blast!!

Woohoo! Of course I'm participating! Dewey's 24 Hour Read-a-Thon is like Christmas for me! Seriously, I'm counting down the days. I've got a pile started. I start jumping up and down a bit when I think about it. I have a problem. :D
ReplyDeleteI need to start my pile but I haven't yet.
DeleteMe and my Mom are excited for this one! Now I'm just having a time trying to figure out what I should read! I'll definitely be stopping by to check on you during the read-a-thon.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see what other people are reading. I think I need some ideas.
DeleteYay you're doing this again!
ReplyDeleteCome check out my RAT book post - http://wall-to-wall-books.blogspot.com/2012/09/fun-friday_28.html
Yes! Of course, I can't wait.
DeleteI'm not participating - but then again, I've never done a readathon. I'm not sure I get their appeal.

It's the community aspect that is best. Everyone is reading at the same time and checking it. It's fun. You should give it a try. You might be surprised.
DeleteI might have to do this! I have so many books that I need to read but I put aside because I waned to get on top of my review pile! (I'm 2 books away!)
ReplyDeleteAnyway, :) good luck.
You can do it! You can read as little or as much as you need.
DeleteHMMM< i haven't done this one challenge before. I'm not sure. I might look into it. Oct 13th. A Saturday. I'm always up darn near 24 hours anyway, I'm going to need that GANO or Tankaali tea for this one. lol.
ReplyDeleteYou can do it. It is really fun. Plus completing the challenge feels like a huge accomplishment.
DeleteI'm participating again! I had so much fun the last time. I did the full 24 hours, too, although this time I won't be able to, due to work on Sunday :-( I'm going to last as long as I can, though.
ReplyDeleteYay! I won't be able to do the whole 24 hours again either but I still want to do something.
DeleteThis looks like a lot of fun but I'm afraid I really won't have time
ReplyDeleteI can understand.
DeleteI was thinking about doing this, but I'm not sure because it seems like every time I commit to doing a read-a-thon, a bunch of stuff comes up and I don't even get close to my goal. I guess me and read-a-thons don't get along! :-)
