Coming Soon! Black History Month Hop

I'm so excited to let you guys know about an event coming in February.  Mocha Girls Read and I are co-hosting the Black History Blog Hop.  This hop will focus on giving black authors, books, and those who support them a month in the spotlight.  Although there are plenty out there, it can be hard to find great books that feature minorities as main characters.  We really wanted to feature them and bring them to the forefront and February seems a great time to do it.

The month will include giveaways, weekly topics, and all genres.  We'll also host giveaways for other blogs that  join in.

Look out an upcoming post that will allow interested blogs to link-up to host a Giveaway.

We'll also post a form for those who are interested in participating to sign-up so we give out more information.

  1. They can definitely be adult books. I have a couple of information posts scheduled that will give more info. I'm reviewing our man on the dark too but I haven't started yet. Maybe I can schedule the interview in feb. my review will post in January though.

  2. I'm interested in participating! I'm reading OUR MAN IN THE DARK right now for TLC Book Tours. However, my review will be posted on MLK Day. I'd give the book away ('cause it's autographed) but I'm loving it so much I don't want to! lol However, I have some books on my list I'd like to review and/or discuss. Can they be adult books?

  7. Sounds like a great idea, Alexis. I've got a couple of Toni Morrison books on my TBR shelf that I've been meaning to get to. February will be a perfect month to read them!

  9. This is a good idea! My mother and I were talking about how it is really hard to find African American authors for younger kids. We were trying to find a book to give to my cousin, but couldn't really find anything. This post just reminded me of this, so now I think I am going to participate. Looking forward to the upcoming post!
