My Review:
This story was pretty hot and I was really intrigued about the conflict. I flew through the pages desperate to get to the resolution. It's a short 82 pages and it didn't take me long to read it. This well-written story kept me on the edge of my seat but I couldn't help but wish it were longer. I feel like the story was a tad underdeveloped and wished the conflict was drawn out a bit longer. It's the first in the series so I will definitely check out the next one.
Overall, I recommend this for those who enjoy quick sensual reads with a bit of a drama.
Sounds steamy and angsty, meaning awesome!
ReplyDeleteThat happens to me a lot as well, after reading a max 100 pages long read I always tend to wish it would have been longer, you know?
Thanks for the heads-up about it :D I just might want to read it, I'm falling into bookish temptation here :D And you lead me down that perilous path :D
It's a quick read. Instant gratification! Go for it.
DeleteSounds like a nice novella :=)
ReplyDeleteIt is, but with the conflict, it could have been much longer.
DeleteSounds like a great novella that would have made an even greater book. The conflict in this one sounds amazing. I so want to know how it all played out. I'm wondering if the resolution pleased all the characters. Might have to get my hands on this one.
ReplyDeleteThe conflict was awesome. I'm not sure if the resolution really pleased all the characters but there is a book 2. I think the second one focuses on Derrick, the friend/pretend boyfriend.
DeleteWhile I don't really read books with a lot of sensuality, the plot and tension does sound awesome. The guy on the cover reminds me of Bill Bellamy....

Oh I'm glad you like it Amber! Yes there is a drama and it is the right kind too. Some drama I just can't take.
DeleteHi Alexis, thanks for taking the time to review my book! I suppose when people say they want more, that's a good thing, right...? :)
ReplyDeleteYou're correct, Derrick's story is next and is called A Hard Man to Love. I hope you enjoy it.
Wanting more is definitely a good thing :)
DeleteSounds like a good one! It's always nice to pick up a short but fulfilling read, so I'll have to squeeze this one in.
ReplyDeleteIt is a quick read. It really surprised me how suddenly I was drawn in.
