Why I Love Wednesdays... Amazon.com

I am returning with my new feature... Why I love which takes place on Wednesdays.    In the previous weeks I've discussed my favorite bookfavorite authortime periodreading spot,  one of my favorite series, my favorite book institution,  types of characters, and one of my favorite genres.  This week's topic was recommended by Jenny Milchman: Favorite Book Stores.

If you want to play along, feel free to grab the image and link your post in the linky (my first week with a linky...yay!).  Here goes.

LINKY INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. When naming your link, please choose the name of your post.  Mine would say "Why I Love...Amazon.com."
  2. Please link directly to your post and not your blog.
  3. Please participate :)
Why I Love...Amazon.com
Okay, Okay.  I know that Amazon.com is not an actual bookstore, but when I think in my head, it is the category it belongs in.  Some people love Borders and some love local unique bookstores (and if this is you, please share pictures), but me... I like amazon.

On Amazon, the book is always there.  I don't have to worry about whether all the books in a series is in the store.  It is.  If I'm looking for a very old book that isn't a classic, I head to amazon.  Oh and you know how I love The Rawhide Man by Diana Palmer?  I remember it from a time when I used to read my mother's book.  I couldn't remember the title, but guess where I found it?  Amazon.  That book was written in the 80's.

But wait there's more (And no...Amazon is not paying me)!  If you are the type of person that doesn't buy all of your novels for your English Lit. class because you are absolutely positive that the class couldn't possibly get to all of them, then amazon is your friend!  You can buy out of print books for wonderful people who are willing to sell them to you.  LOVES it!

Oh and I love that I can buy brand new books for cheap.  Ummm... and what's this about free shipping for students?!  Okay so yes.  I love to buy books from amazon.

But I also do my book research on Amazon.  Before blogging, I had never heard of Goodreads so I looked for older books, figured out book titles that I couldn't remember, and figured out the series orders of books since I had the knack for reading them out of order.  Goodreads is good for this too.

Finally, I love the recommendation features.  I found so many great books using this feature and it lets me exclude books if I want.  There is so much more to amazon that I don't have time (or don't feel like) mentioning.

But I might have glossed over the most important part.  I can browse books and purchase 24 hours a day.  Some people google.  I amazon :)  Alot of the features that I love about amazon I now get from other sites, but I've been a member of amazon for years and years and it still holds a special spot for me.  It may not be a brick and mortar, but it is my favorite bookstore.
