Description:
Willow knows she's different from other girls, and not just because she loves tinkering with cars. Willow has a gift. She can look into the future and know people's dreams and hopes, their sorrows and regrets, just by touching them. she has no idea where this power comes from. But the assassin, Alex, does. Gorgeous, mysterious Alex knows more about Willow than Willow herself does. He knows that her powers link to dark and dangerous forces and that he's one of the few humans left who can fight them. When Alex finds himself falling in love with his sworn enemy, he discovers that nothing is as it seems, least of all good and evil.
My Rating:
My Review:
Angels as enemies.  Interesting.

Willow, a young psychic, does a reading for an acquaintance that changes her life forever.  She discovers there really are angels but they aren't what anyone expects.  Angels feed off of humans leaving them week and mentally ill, a disease termed Angel Burn.  When it is discovered that Willow is quite unique and a danger to the Angel race, she must run for her life.  Luckily, she runs into Alex, and Angel killer who can better protect her.  They must stay alive long enough to figure out a way to save the human race.

On the story...
I enjoyed this one.  I liked the the premise where Angels are bad guys.  Except for a bit of lag in the middle, it was a fast-paced adventure.  I liked Willow as the very capable heroine.  The romance was decent though I didn't fall in love with Alex.  The Angels are fab-tastic monsters. And the ending had my heart racing; I was quite surprised.  It's so random that I picked this one up but I'm glad I did.  I actually don't plan to continue this series but only because I hear there is a love triangle in the future and I don't feel like dealing with it.

On the narrator...
Ms. Campbell did a good job though some of the voices could have been more distinct.

Overall, I enjoyed the read though there is no closure of any sort (and very little progress now that I think of it).  Still.  Read it.

  2. Great review. Sounds good. I've never considered this one on audio. Not sure why.

    1. I'm doing so much of my reading on audio these days, I consider almost everything.

  3. Sounds like a decent read. Angels as enemies is a different concept, so I'd like to see how they reconcile all of that in the book.

    1. It's done very well. It's the idea of monsters being assumed to be good because of our folklore (if that's what you call it).
