P.S. The Hunger Games movie reminds me of my brother. He and I went to see the movie together when it came out. I remember this especially because it was one of the first major outings (if not the first) he went on after his accident that year. When we got to the theater, I thought it was going to be a big mistake because the line was long and he still couldn't stand for very long. He gritted through it and when we made it to the theater it was a little triumph for him.
And I also think about this experience because you never know what people go through. When we sat down in the theater after he had stood for that time period, a woman asked if we could scoot down a seat and we said that we couldn't. At that time, he literally couldn't get back up because his legs had given out. She got so upset and told us that we were selfish people and would rot in hell. I'm not exaggerating. He felt so bad that he couldn't get up to move a seat. I was so mad at that rude lady. People have no idea. He sat through the entire movie worried that his legs wouldn't be ready to stand again after the movie. When it was over, he said the movie was worth it all.
He's a sweetheart. Really.
Me and my brother (he's going to kill me for this) |
What a horrible wench. You're a better person than me. I would have gone off on her and said something.
ReplyDeleteYour story is a good reminder too that we should always pause in our anger and try to remember that other people may have their reasons for doing or not doing something.
You're brother is very handsome and seems very cool. I hope he's better soon. *hugs*
Oh Juju! You make me feel better. I agree that we should all keep from jumping to the worst conclusion. He's getting there.
DeleteHi-Five JuJu! Alexis me and that lady would have had some words I tell you. Kudos to you for keeping it together! Sometimes people just suck and never bother to see things beyond their own wants and comfort. Sorry that happened to you all. At least it didn't put a complete damper on your outing.
ReplyDeletePS: You and your bro look so cute together!
I was so worried about him that I couldn't really worry about her too. He was so nervous and he's a big guy. If he couldn't get up, I wouldn't have been able to help. When I think back though, it just makes me shake my head. People are so quick to jump to their own conclusions.
DeleteHe go he dimples. I'm still jealous about that.
Awwwwww! He won't kill you but I am guessing he will pay you back LOL
ReplyDeleteThat lady was incredibly rude! You have every right to think that and your brother shouldn't feel bad at all!
Oh I feel as if you know him well :)
DeleteWhat a sweet man you have for a brother. He is a strong man too, to be able to handle stupid people. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful picture of you two!!!
Thank you! He is a sweet one (when he wants to be).
Delete*sigh* people in he movies, they are like a box of chocolate, you never know what you're gonna get.
ReplyDeleteBut I'm glad your brother liked the movie anyway. I'm kind of done with the Hunger Games but if my sister wants to see it we'll probably go anyway.
That's a good point. I hadn't thought about it that way. I'm not sure about the next movie. I'm too invested I think.
