Description:

Thomas knows that Wicked can't be trusted, but they say the time for lies is over, that they've collected all they can from the Trials and now must rely on the Gladers, with full memories restored, to help them with their ultimate mission. It's up to the Gladers to complete the blueprint for the cure to the Flare with a final voluntary test.

What Wicked doesn't know is that something's happened that no Trial or Variable could have foreseen. Thomas has remembered far more than they think. And he knows that he can't believe a word of what Wicked says.

The time for lies is over. But the truth is more dangerous than Thomas could ever imagine. Will anyone survive the Death Cure?
My Rating:

My Review:
The trials are finally over and WICKED is ready to come clean by giving the remaining Gladers their memories back.  But Thomas hasn't gone through the Maze and the Scorch only to trust WICKED.  Convinced that answers aren't everything, Thomas and a few others decide to take control of their own lives and start anew; WICKED has other plans.

On the story...
This was a satisfying end to the series.  There is a bit more world building compared to the other books in the series.   The plot was good and interesting.  We get lots of action, see the return of our favorite characters, and finally get some answers.  The only thing that irritated me about this series was Thomas' decision making.  It was questionable and annoying.  It felt contrived to further a very tired plot point--their lack of a memory of before.  Thomas not wanting his memory back seemed silly.  I felt like it was an excuse to avoid fleshing out the pre-apocalyptic world.  It was a cop-out in my opinion.  We didn't really get to learn how the Gladers were before their time in the Maze or what was going on in their lives.  I also didn't think Thomas was consistent.  I didn't understand why he easily forgave the betrayal of one person but not that of another when it seemed like the same thing to me.  I will say that it was interesting to see a love triangle where a guy was the center of it.  It was hugely different from those written by female writes and it made me laugh because it seemed more realistic but just barely there.

On the narrator...
I continue to appreciate Mr. Deakins narration.  There have been tons of characters over the span of this series and he manages to make each completely distinct.

Overall...
A good end to the series.  It was such a relief to get some answers and the last shocker at the end was entirely fitting.
