It's that time again!!! I've signed up to participate in Dewey's 24 Hour Read-a-Thon. Twice a year in October and April one of my favorite events roll around. Readers sign up to challenge themselves to read for an entire 24 hours (or as long as life allows). There will be challenges, social media overload, and cheerleaders!
I love this particular challenges because I meet new people and find wonderful new blogs. I always make new friends. Last April I made the entire 24 hours for the first time, my mom made 21 hours, and my grandmother made it 18 hours. It was a family affair. Last October life happened and I didn't get to participate much. I'm ready to go this time around though.
I've already started compiling my reading list. You can find it on the right sidebar.
Are you in? Let me know in the comments I want to start organizing my feed folder.
Aw, I love the fact that your whole family participated! :) I shall ask my mum to join me next time round. I think I did about 19 hours because I completed almost all of the challenges and were chatting on Twitter quite a lot. It was so much fun, though!
ReplyDeleteIt was fun. I'll be alone this time around though.
DeleteI know - just kill me now! For the first time in about 6 yrs. I am going to skip this one! I will do the one in Sept. but I just have so much going on.
ReplyDeleteI wish you luck and I will be commenting to help keep you away!
I can't believe it. My mouth literally dropped open when I read this. It won't be the same without you.
DeleteI love that your mom and grandma participate too. I always want to join up but I'm such a wimp and just can't hack the 24 hour thing. I'll try to do lots of commenting, though, to keep you guys going!
ReplyDeleteYou don't have to do 24 hours. Just do what you can.
DeleteI'm definitely in!! I've been totally absent from the book blogging community for over a month, while I was stuck on one book and having massive writer's block on my reviews. Dewey's read-a-thon is just what I need to get back into the swing of things! Just thinking about it is getting me writing reviews again, trying to get caught up. :D
ReplyDeleteIt's the perfect thing for you! You should try bloggiesta as well.
Deletedo i understand right in that you don't sleep during the 24 hours?? i don't think i could do it!! congrats for doing all 24 hours last year!! so cool that your family did it too!
ReplyDeleteYou aren't supposed to but... I do. I do what I can. I made it the whole 24 hours once and I told myself I wouldn't try that again. I was delirious for days.
