Why I Love Wednesdays... Love Stories

Reflections of a Bookaholic

I am returning with my new feature... Why I love which takes place on Wednesdays. Today's proclamation of love concerns our favorite love stories

Why I Love...Love Stories!

There are so many love stories that touch my heart in different ways.  I've decided to provide a list :)

Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell
I have often said how much I love this book.  The romance between Rhett and Scarlet is something I swoon over just thinking about it.  I love that neither get what they want for a long time but it is a bit sad that keep missing each other.

Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers
Oh you know the scripture that starts: "Love is patient, love is kind..." I think of this book when I think of that type of love.

Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston
Now I know this love story starts with 3 failed marriages but when Janie meets Tea Cake it all seems worth it.

I guess I like love stories where love doesn't come easy.  I learned something new about myself today!

Which love stories do you love? Feel free to create your own post and link up.  Don't want to create an entire post?  Tell me your favorites in the comments.  Thanks for stopping by for another week of Why I Love Wednesdays!!

  1. Great question. I can't for the life of me think of the one I love. I do know I must read Redeeming Love. Perhaps this will be the year I do it.

  2. I finally bought a copy of Gone With the Wind because of you. And Their Eyes Were Watching God was an awesome awesome book. One of the only ones I actually liked reading when it was assigned for school.

    1. It wasn't assigned to me when I was in school. But when I was teaching, I read it to help another teacher with her lesson planning. I really loved it.

  3. I have a blog tour today so I won't be posting this meme but I want to say - my favorite love story of all time has to be Love Story by Erich Segal. *sigh*

  4. Great choices. I like Their Eyes Were Watching God. It's a really great book. I never read Gone With the Wind, watched the film dozens of times, but never got around to reading it. Maybe I should put it on my TBR list. My favorite romance novels are usallly by Francis Ray and Rochelle Alers.

  6. No one does love stories quite like Jane Austen. My favorite? Pride and Prejudice :)

    1. Pride and Prejudice is one of my favorites as well. I just love how subtle so many things are during that period.
