Updates & Reminders:
We are still gearing up for the Black History Month Hop hosted by myself and Mocha Girls Read. Some people have expressed interest in participating but don't have books by African American authors to read and review. We completely understand and feelings along this sentiment are part of the reasons for this hop.
Looking for some books by African American authors? Try Mohogany Books and Goodreads for ideas.
Check out this post for more information about the hop and tell us about your interest levels.
So far 15 blogs are signed up for the Giveaway Blog Hop. Click here to join.
Don't forget, participants will be entered in giveaways for each week they participate. We can't wait! We know this will be an informative and fun week.
Miracles:
Fortunately, this blog has been running itself this week. Tuesday, I received a phone call letting me know that my baby brother had been in a car accident. Turns out, he was hit by an 18 wheeler. If you want to hear more about this 2012 miracle, you can click here for the back story. and here for pictures of his car (I've never seen anything like this in my life). His survival is a true miracle.
So...I'm hanging out in ICU, praying, and feeling blessed.
Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteI'm certainly late replying. Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteThose pictures put everything in perspective
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
ReplyDeleteI agree. We need more miracles.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
ReplyDeleteI've never read Vanessa Miller but I will check her out.
ReplyDeleteGood Lord, I"m so glad that your brother survived. I have a younger brother and wouldn't be able to function. I will pray for his speedy recovery. God bless you and your family!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, that is a miracle. My thoughts are with you and your family for a good recovery. Sending you *hugs*
ReplyDeleteIt is this very miracle why we must always kneel and pray daily for our love one traveling mercies and protect them from seen and unseen dangers. Prayer changes things. I'm so grateful to know that your brother escaped such a tragic accident. Will add his recovery to my prayer list also.
ReplyDeleteThanks I will check these out.
ReplyDeleteI did see "32 Candles" by Ernessa T. Carter looked cute.
I have read Maya Angelou before (of course).
I'm looking for love or romance stories for Feb.
Thank you so much! It has been difficult but we are grateful it isn't worse. It certainly could have been.
ReplyDeleteIt truly was. He will get better but he has a long recovery.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! Those pictures. I've never seen anything like that. It is so crazy.
ReplyDeleteThanks! He gets better every day so we are grateful for that.
ReplyDeleteThat's how I feel exactly! It sucks that he has to go through this, but he is still here to tell his story.
ReplyDeleteThank you! It was certainly scary but it could have ended differently so we'll be okay.

ReplyDeleteThanks so much! Getting that phone call was so tough but none of that matters because he'll be okay.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I need all the hugs I can get. It's been tough and it is tiring. But I'm very grateful.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
ReplyDeleteWhen I first heard of the accident I never imagined that it would be so bad and the circumstances make me kind of mad. It was certainly not his fault. I really hate those big trucks. But then again I can't be too mad because, like you said, prayer works.
Everyone says that about the angel in the passenger seat. It definitely looks that wait. I'm eternally grateful to that angel.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
ReplyDeleteI read and reviewed 32 Candles. February is the perfect month for romance ;)
ReplyDeleteOh I'm writing these down and including them in today's post. I'm going to do another reminder post.
ReplyDeleteIt was scary and we were far away. So we had to drive from all different directions and no one would tell us anything. It was the longest day of my life.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! It really means a lot.

ReplyDeleteWow! Thank you for that link to Mohogany Books!! What a great site (for ideas that is, a little pricey to buy the books there). I did a search on B&N for some of the Authors and found Vanessa Miller. She writes Christian Romance - I really think I will like her! A lot of her nook books are very reasonable. I plan to read a few in Feb.
ReplyDeleteHave you ever read her before?
Thanks again!
