Description:
Half-human and half-Wyr, Pia Giovanni spent her life keeping a low profile among the Wyrkind and avoiding the continuing conflict between them and their Dark Fae enemies. But after being blackmailed into stealing a coin from the hoard of a dragon, Pia finds herself targeted by one of the most powerful—and passionate—of the Elder Races. As the most feared and respected of the Wyrkind, Dragos Cuelebre cannot believe someone had the audacity to steal from him, much less succeed. And when he catches the thief, Dragos spares her life, claiming her as his own to further explore the desire they've ignited in each other. Pia knows she must repay Dragos for her trespass, but refuses to become his slave—although she cannot deny wanting him, body and soul.

My Rating:
My Review...
Pia cannot believe that she finds herself stealing from a dragon.  After being blackmailed by her boyfriend, her Ex boyfriend, Pia is forced to step outside of the shadows to preserve the life she has carefully constructed.  She knew she wouldn't likely be able to run from Dragos but she found herself in a rock and a hard place.  Dragos is torn between disbelief that someone had the audacityto steal from and him and delight that this event has torn him from his monotonous routine.  He sets out to find the thief and find out how she managed such a feat.

I won this book in a giveaway and it has been sitting on my shelf for a while collecting dust.  Then I saw a review on Jade from Sort of Beautiful that made me say, "Hey! I think I have that book.  Let me take a look."  Then I got busy and I was on another blog the other day (sorry I forgot who) and I read a review and remember commenting that I would start this one next.  And I did.

I really really enjoyed this book because I loved every single character that touched the page.  Dragos made me laugh out loud.  While he is very old, he comes across as a bit innocent or naive to the ways of people and it makes for some hilarious moments.  While Dragos was my favorite, I enjoyed Pia, Rune, and all the others.  The characters just made for a very good read.  Though I had an idea how everything would ultimately end, many secrets were revealed throughout the book and I was often taken by surprise.  I can't wait to read the other character's stories, especially Runes.  I should also mention that this book is Hot. Hot. Hott!

That said I recommend this to people who like hot Paranormal reads with lots of fun banter.

Has anyone read other books in the series?  Which is your favorite?

  1. I saw the cover and thought "Oh cool, a male MC", but I guess not, huh? Don't you love when a book that has been sitting around collecting dust turns out to be awesome? :)

  4. Actually it doesn't. I think Wyrs are people who change into an animal of some sort. Dragos changes to a dragon. Like THE dragon. Other Wyrs may change into other magical creatures.

  5. Haha! I agree that it sounds weird. That's probably why I put it on my shelf and didn't think of it until I started seeing other reviews.

  8. I saw that on GoodReads. I hate when that happens. I feel like that happened with me and Divergent. So many people compared it to The Hunger Games. While I thought it was a good book, I wasn't as impressed as others. It didn't change my opinion but it feels weird.

  10. Nice review. I have had that happen before where I read a review and remember I too have the book sitting somewhere collecting dust. Sounds like a really great book. No need to look on my shelf for it, I don't have it. :-(

  13. I really loved this book and you're right, the characters are awesome! Dragos really made an impression on me and Pia was an awesomely kick ass female lead. I'm glad you enjoyed it as much as I did. I have the second in this series but have yet to read it. Thanks for the shout out!
