Reflection: How Do You Get Out of a Reading Funk?

I'm in a funk.  A reading funk.

I deeply apologize to everyone who is waiting for their review requests to be answered and their books to be read.  If I haven't answered your review request, it is because a sense of panic sets in when I see them.  I will reply but as you can guess, I'm not really taking any review requests for the rest of the semester. I usually have a schedule thing going where I group books generally and I pick books out of that group to read.  I'm a moody reader so a strict schedule doesn't work.  Also, the blog has a huge lag because most posts are scheduled at least a month in advance.  Yeah I know.  I'm just that organized and my life is just that crazy.  If I get behind there is no catching up.

But at this point.  Nothing works.  I don't want to read.  Well I do, but I don't know what to read.  AND  I have no reviews scheduled!!!!  Wow.  I don't know how to describe the panic that has set in.  I cannot read during the school year like I do in the summer.  I'm currently finishing one book every week or two.  Which means, I haven't read a book in about a month.  I try.  Really I do.  But...I can't get into the groove.

So maybe you can help me.  Does this ever happen to you?  If so, what do you do? I need any help I can get.  I'm sad when I'm not reading :(

  1. If Im in a reading funk I usually pick up a comic book, its only a little bit of reading, more looking at pictures. There are plenty of great stories in the comic book world and you can get through it really fast, even if you pick up a rather large one. Once finishing a comic book that feeling usually makes it easier to get back in the groove.

  2. I know this is a super old post, but I just wanted to let you know that if you are ever in a reading funk (reading slump, I like to call it), I made this post a while ago: http://laurenreadsya.tumblr.com/post/21211897149/how-to-get-out-of-a-reading-slump
