Friday Meme: Follow Friday & Blog Hop

Follow Friday Question of the Week:
If you are a fan of Science Fiction what is your favorite book? If you haven’t read Science Fiction before…any inkling to? Anything catch your eye?

My Answer:

I don't intentionally choose science fiction books.  I don't dislike them, but I don't have any experience CHOOSING good ones.  I've accidentally chosen science fiction novels and they were great (I know, how do you accidentally choose sci-fi?  Well I'm just talented like that.).  If anyone has some recommendations, please leave a comment :)  I am willing to give them a whirl.

Blog Question of the Week:
What book(s) would you like to see turned into a movie?

My Answer:
This is a really hard question for me because for the most part, I don't like it when people turn books into movies.  Very few movies do the book justice.  However, if I were to pick with the assumption that they would do a good job, I would pick the following books.

Dead and Gone: A Sookie Stackhouse Novel (Southern Vampire Mysteries, No. 9)Sizzling Sixteen (Stephanie Plum)Blood Born

1.  I know they have True Blood, but it isn't the same thing because they made that series so different from the books. 2.   I LOVE Stephanie Plum and would love to see her on the big screen.  I think it would be hilarious.  3.  This was just different for me.  I would be curious to see it as a movie.  I think it would be great.

  4. Well, I hardly ever happen to choose a Sci-Fi book, not whilst there are fantasy books just jumping out in front of me saying buy me! buy me! And they're sooooooo distracting! Hehe! Great blog! I'm now following!

  7. Ha! I totally know what you mean. You accidentally pick one up when you just kind of skim the blurb and think the cover's cool and then halfway through reading you're like "Whhaaaa?" Yeah. I've been there.

Thanks for stopping by, and I'm your newest follower!

  11. @ Sonette: I have a love/hate relationship with law right now. It is taking up so much of my time that I could be reading :)

  12. @ Book Flame: After today's Blog hop I think reading Across the Universe is a must. I feel as if I am missing out because it is what everyone is talking about.

  14. @ Logan E. Turner: Ha! That's exactly what happens to me. I get that funny look on my face and I'm sooooo confused. But I finish the book and it is usually fun. So I just go with it. Lol.

  16. Sounds Good and obviously you aren't aware but they are making Stephanie Plum into films. Starting with One for Money - Katherine Heigl is rumoured to play Stephanie. Im a new follower

  17. I agree with you about True Blood. Great TV show - my favorite, in fact, but it isn't the book. To see a movie that stuck to the books would be amazing!

Thanks for the ereader advice. I actually purchased the Nook over the weekend. I haven't gotten to play with it yet but I'm really looking forward to it!

    New follower too!

  18. I never thought about Evanovich! Those would be good--crime/mystery mixed in with comedy. Awesome choice!

  19. @Phantom Paragrapher: I think Katherine Heigl is a good choice for Stephanie Plum if Sandra Bullock is taken :). She's such a quirky character, I'm excited to see her on the big screen.

@Elaine: I love True Blood as well (although I don't have HBO), but it has strayed so far from the books that it just doesn't seem to be comparable anymore.

  20. Just hopping by. I enjoyed seeing your thoughts. I wish that True Blood had stayed true to the books. I think of them as two separate stories at this point. Thank you for stopping by Reading Lark.
