Dewey's 24 Hour Read-a-thon April 21st
It's that time again! I've happily signed up once again for Dewey's 24 hour read-a-thon. This is seriously one of my favorite bookish events and now that I've got my mom hooked, I've got a partner. Last October, my mom out-read and out-lasted me so I'm going to try to do better this time. I'm also going to compile the best book pile ever! Can you tell I'm excited?!
If you are participating, let me know in the comments. I'm usually add a section in my reader for readathon participants so I can check in and cheer on my fellow readathoners during the event. If you haven't signed up, you should. Go check it out for yourself here. You don't have to have a blog to participate. My mom signs up using her twitter account.

I really want to participate in April but I'm not sure I can. That's the weekend before my last week of classes and I expect I'll be very busy writing papers and studying.
ReplyDeleteIf I do participate, it'll probably be a last minute decision. I'll have to wait and see if I can squeeze in the time.
I understand. I hope you can make it work. It's two weeks before my only final. So I'm going to plan around it. It is a lot easier with only one final and one paper.
DeleteYEAHH!!! It's Read A Thon time! Whoot Whoot! Love it! I'm in. I am so planning a Read-A-Thon weekend.
ReplyDeleteMe too! Are you still thinking about the hotel idea? I'm so excited. I already confirmed with my mom that she is participating. I'm going to sign her up soon.
DeleteStill doing the hotel but having a hard time finding a cheap one. Speaking of hotel are you going to the Book Blogger Conference/ Book Expo in NYC (June)?
DeleteTry hotwire closer to the date. You should be able to find a goodone that way. Make sure you have internet. No Book Blogger Conference for me because I'll be studying for the bar :( Are you going?
DeleteGood luck! I can never participate in Read-a-thons 'cause my mom keeps forcing me to do chores when I'm trying to read, even though she promises she won't.
ReplyDelete:D I'll be cheering you up though!
Oh no! Well we always need cheerleaders. But maybe this time is the time you won't have to do chores.
DeleteI'm so pumped for this! I had so much fun last time and was pretty productive considering all the distractions in my house DESPITE the fact that I told my family what I was doing. Hopefully this go round I'll have less distractions. But I'm ready to go. I already have two books picked out, but I need to add some more.
ReplyDeleteMe too! I had a blast last time. I haven't started to think about books yet but I'll spend all month doing it. I'm planning to stay off twitter as much because I kind of went overboard.
DeleteYes! I am signed up. I think this is my 9th. I've lost count.
ReplyDeleteThat will be me one day. I hope I am as disciplined as you this time around.
DeleteGah, so excited! October 2011 was my first read-a-thon and now I'm hooked for life! I'm excited to test what I learned last time in search of the perfect read-a-thon experience: More graphic novels! No non-fiction ever! Drink the energy drink much earlier so I can sleep when the read-a-thon ends! :D
ReplyDeleteMy problem is sleeping before the read-a-thon ends :)
DeleteI'm definitely in. It's one of my favorite online events. Have to think what's going on my reading pile...
ReplyDeleteNothing really comes to mind right now. I know that is insane. But I'll have to really think of what special mission I want to tackle for the read-a-thon.
DeleteI'm usually not able to participate in these things but I will be cheering you on and wishing you 24 hrs of blissful reading :)
ReplyDeleteI hope 24 hours of blissful reading! I've never quite made it. I'll be looking forward to have you as a cheerleader ;)
